portrait

One of the important portrait photography tips is that you will want to look at the details around your subject before you snap the picture. Sometimes it only takes a small thing to ruin the perfect picture. It can be an old scar, a folded skirt, or simply a pole in the background. Now, portrait photography doesn’t always mean that you only take close up face shot of your subject. You are not using that picture to apply for driving license. The essence of this portrait photography technique is to capture the natural side of your subject. Lets say your niece is blowing off the birthday candle. Don’t you think it is only logic to include the candles that you can show what your niece is doing? Your niece will look silly instead of natural with only her head in the picture.
Then, for those who are using compact digital camera, you can look into the setting of your camera and select the portrait mode. This will then slow down the shutter speed and allow more light to go into the camera. This will then create a shallow depth of field hence enhancing the details of your subject. You will see the difference when you compare portrait photography taken with portrait mode and other mode.

Light and The Photographer

Light is the primary working tool of the photographer. Light is the visible portion of the electro-magnetic spectrum. The spectrum starts from red, the weakest of rays, all the way to violet which is the strongest of rays. Light rays from the sun are considered white and they contain all the colors of the spectrum. Black is the absence of any color. When we place a prism in front of a white ray, the prism will diffract (separate) that light into all the colors of the spectrum. When we place a LENS in front of any ray, that lens will simply refract (bend) that ray. So, being in focus simply means moving the lens elements forward and backward until all the rays coming toward the camera from the subject meet at one point, that is called the focal point on the film.

D-SLR Cameras

SLR (single-lens reflex) refers to a type of camera that employs a rotating mirror that reflects the image that comes through the lens onto a focusing screen. From the mirror’s reflection, the images then appears in the camera’s eyepiece. The image only reaches the film after the focal plane shutter opens, when the photographer takes the shot.
Produced in 1935, the GOMZ sport was first version of the SLR camera to be made. Different models flourished throughout the WWII era that included improvements in the viewfinder’s orientation and the camera’s internal mirrors. Since the 1970s, amateur and professional photographers alike have been using SLR cameras.
Over the years as photographic technology improved, retailers produced SLR cameras that were equipped with LCD screen, improved lens and microcomputers. Today, camera manufacturers such as Canon and Nikon have made digital SLR cameras available.
While digital SLR cameras give the photographer the advantage of viewing the scene without parallax distortion, they do prevent the photographer from seeing his shot at the moment the picture is taken.

what is photography?

photography. everyone something about photography. then what t is photography? i am sure every one has their own point of view about it. some might say photography is just taking picture, other might say it camera function. for me, it is simply capturing the light. there will be no photography without without, that much is certain. according to optics, each and every matter in this universe has tendency of reflecting its own character  of light, & that is its color. we should also keep in mind that sunlight is only pure natural source of light available to us. something is white, that means its properties is white. it also means that, that articular matter is absorbs all other texture and reflects only white color, thus it seems white. our eyes also has great deal of role in this matter. in sense, our eye has also the capability of recognizing the color pattern or simply color texture. well this is all sience. all the matter is anything that reflects light can or will be captured. the device that capture the light is camera and the process of captureing the light is photography.
